Seeing as we’ve run out of scenes from the actual films to dissect, how about we analyse a Marvel clip that didn’t make it into the finished film? I have just the thing. Here’s a deleted scene from Thor: Ragnarok, which sees the entrance of Hella as originally planned – in an alleyway in New York:
The former wrestler turned actor is set to star in Fast & Furious 9, but we understand that he's also being lined up for a return in the next film, too.
Check out a selection of Twitter's excited reactions to Black Widow's Super Bowl TV spot, which arrived last night ahead of the film's release on May 1st.
Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker saw the much-heralded, long-awaited return of a much-loved, long-missed character. No, not that one. You’ve already been well-informed about Emperor Palpatine’s comeback. I know, because I wrote about 30 of the pieces on it. No, not Lando either. Stumped? I’ll tell you. Today we’re discussing the return of a much-loved, long-missed character that isn’t Emperor Palpatine or Lando Calrissian. His name is Wicket.
Film universes. Can’t escape them. Rather like the actual universe. There’s an ingenious analogy to kick things off with. Tomorrow sees the release of a new dark fantasy film titled Gretel & Hansel (see what they did there), a new adaptation of the old German folktale yadda yadda yadda. As part of the pre-release promotional circuit, director Oz Perkins has made a guest appearance on The Boo Crew podcast (courtesy of Bloody Disgusting), where he divulged his grand plan for a dark fantasy film universe:
Taking on the role of a major mainstream superhero (definitely the right word, right?) thrusts actors into the limelight in a way few other parts can in contemporary cinema. Robert Pattinson had already experienced stardom as a teeny-weeny heartthrob in the Twilight series. But his decision to don the cape of the Dark Knight has introduced him to an even bigger crowd.
Fantasy Island is coming your way. What is Fantasy Island? Fantasy Island is an upcoming supernatural horror film based on ABC’s 1977 TV series of the same name. The miracles of Wikipedia’s search engine. The film is set to be released this Valentine’s Day, and as is custom this close to a film’s release, one last trailer has been provided. That was nice of them. Check out the trailer in the box above.
It’s fair to say "Fugitive of the Judoon," the fifth episode of the twelfth season of Doctor Who, had some huge surprises hidden under its sleeve, surprises with some equally huge continuity implications. Showrunner Chris Chibnall has taken the opportunity to bludgeon his way into Who-lore, deciding to re-stage the 50th anniversary’s secret Doctor ploy (Chris, that was done less than 7 years ago), a sin that he can now add to his decision to re-obliterate Gallifrey (did you even watch the 50th anniversary, Chibs?).
