On Sunday, Star Wars actor Dave Prowse died at the age of 85 after contracting COVID-19. The competitive bodybuilder was spotted by George Lucas in a bit part in Stanley Kubrick's A Clockwork Orange and offered the choice of playing Chewbacca or Vader. Prowse picked the latter as “everyone remembers the villain.” It proved to be a good decision, too, as Darth Vader has gone on to become the most iconic cinematic baddie of all time.

Johnny Depp's dramatic defeat in the British High Court is likely to have longterm consequences for his career. The first big impact came quickly, with Depp being booted from the role of Gellert Grindelwald in Fantastic Beasts 3. This would have stung, though the fact he's apparently getting paid his full salary for the movie should help his mood. Warner Bros moved fast to cast a replacement, choosing Doctor Strange, Hannibal and Death Stranding star Mads Mikkelsen as the new Grindelwald.

In the most recent episode of The Mandalorian, Ahsoka Tano finally made her long-awaited leap from animation to live-action. Fans have been following her story throughout her Jedi training in The Clone Wars and her later disillusionment with the Order in Rebels, and the general consensus is that Dave Filoni and star Rosario Dawson hit a home run, with the live-action Ahsoka fitting perfectly with her animated self (and being a complete badass to boot).

The long-running feud between Hugh Jackman and Ryan Reynolds took a disturbing twist last week when it appeared that Reynolds' mom Tammy had fallen into Jackman's clutches. The revelation came during an ad for the latter's Laughing Man Coffee Company featuring both talents. In it, the Wolverine actor said that the Deadpool star was "nobody's friend" and confirmed it by showing a video of Reynolds' mother agreeing with him.
