Despite the original Teen Titans animated series that ran from 2003-2006 not having been my cup of tea, I can't deny how beloved it was. For many DC fans, it likely served as their gateway to these adolescent heroes and probably remains the definitive iteration in their minds.
Despite Venom looking better and better the more footage we see from it, True Believers have some valid complaints whenever they say it makes little sense to release Spider-Man spinoffs that feature absolutely no inclusion of the wall-crawler himself. Likewise, Silver & Black has been approached with such hesitation.
Though it may be quite some time before we truly know which character Matt Reeves will place as the primary antagonist in The Batman, recent chatter has pointed toward the Penguin, who wouldn't be a bad choice at all. Still, many fans are crying out for someone who hasn't had prior cinematic exposure, with many still hoping that Joe Manganiello's Deathstroke will be sticking around.
Though we’ll unfortunately have to wait until 2019 for Gotham‘s fifth and final season to premiere, we’ve already been teased a generous amount regarding what the final leg of the journey has in store. To date, it’s been said Bruce Wayne will take up the mantle of Batman in the end, in addition to villains such as Scarface and Mother showing up.
Just days ago, word got out saying that Huntress is more than likely to appear in the upcoming Birds of Prey movie, an inclusion that we and many of you assumed to be a given. Even so, one can never be too sure of what kind of liberties Hollywood will take with the source material, so it's important we not take anything previously established for granted. I mean, we know that both Batgirl and Harley Quinn will be the picture's central characters, but the rest of the roster remains a mystery at this point.
When it comes to certain superhero groups, it stands to reason that each iteration hopefully include at least a few of the core characters most fans imagine when said clique comes to mind. In the case of the Justice League, it's hard to picture it functioning without the likes of Batman, Superman and Wonder Woman, just as we'd expect Iron Man, Thor and Captain America to show up in anything Avengers-related.
Those among you who were fans of Smallville may remember that when the Superman prequel series was in its final years, The CW was kicking around the idea of a Green Arrow spinoff. After all, if any superhero aside from Clark Kent to have appeared on the show captured the hearts of viewers, it was certainly Oliver Queen. Having been played by Justin Hartley in seasons 6-10, the impact felt by the first live action representation of the Emerald Archer was undeniable. Actually, a separate offshoot almost happened midstream, but that's a different discussion altogether.
Whenever a season of television winds down, it's not uncommon for networks to either release an incredibly vague synopsis, or to hold off a little longer than usual until the show in question reveals a particular plot point. Though one could say that today's example pertaining to Supergirl shows characteristics of both, it's more so the latter.
Despite the current season of Supergirl unfolding somewhat slowly, the producers very much picked up the pace with this past Monday's episode, "Dark Side of the Moon." In it, we not only learned that a Kryptonian city, Argo, survived the rest of the planet's destruction, but that Kara's mother, Alura, is still alive!
As you're well aware, Arrow is no stranger to crossovers at this point. Not only did it spawn several other DC-based shows that now make up what refer to as "the Arrowverse," but it also participates in epic multi-series mashups each fall, the next of which will introduce Batwoman.
