As we begin the sprint toward Gotham's season finale, we need to brace ourselves for some returns to be made by major villains. Already, Jerome Valeska has made his presence felt, but based on what we've heard, some of the most dangerous customers in the city may very well soon be united under his insane vision.
Sure, installing Superman's grandfather in Seg-El as its chief protagonist may allow for Krypton to carve out its own corner in DC mythology, but you have to admit that the inclusion of Brainiac really sweetens the deal when it comes to bringing those longtime fans of Big Blue on board. Really, despite the Collector of Worlds having been a staple in comics for decades, he's seldom found his way to the live action realm.
While his solo series may have been unfortunately cancelled by NBC a few years back, it's been exciting to see Matt Ryan reprise his role of John Constantine, be it on various other TV shows or in animated movies. Actually, we've been quite spoiled in recent memory, as he's appeared on Legends of Tomorrow, with two more guest shots on the way: One will arrive tonight, and the other will come during the season 3 finale.
To the casual moviegoer, there may not be much of a difference in Jason Voorhees' appearance with each successive Friday the 13th movie. But to those of us who are more familiar with the franchise - or are just paying attention - you're well aware that he's adopted various looks over the years. Whether it be overalls or coveralls, or a knapsack or hockey mask, just about every diehard has a favorite iteration to call their own.
Ever since she first appeared at Barry Allen and Iris West’s wedding last fall during the Crisis on Earth-X crossover, pretty much every Arrowverse fan has been left scratching their heads as to whom the mystery girl played by Jessica Parker Kennedy (Smallville) may be. And, to further complicate matters, she’s popped up in a few episodes of The Flash in the time since.
Suffice it to say, anyone who's been on board with the Arrowverse for quite some time is well aware of the impressive lineage of Canaries thus far seen. That said, we're guessing none of you have forgotten with whom it all started, that being Sara Lance, who first debuted all the way back in Arrow's second season and now calls Legends of Tomorrow home.
Although a portion of the Arrowverse is unfortunately on hiatus yet again for the time being, the truth of the matter is that we’re about to begin the final stretch of episodes for the season, so now is the time to get excited. In fact, Legends of Tomorrow has only four more installments to offer this spring, with the season finale set to air on April 9. Given that, it's fully expected that things heat up considerably.
When a show such as The Flash remains on the air for four seasons or longer, it's expected for the titular character to not only grow as a hero, but as a person as well. As such, an enduring love interest comes along with that. Clark Kent found his match in Lois Lane back when Smallville was still on, and Barry Allen has done likewise with Iris West on this particular series.
With spring officially kicking off in a matter of days, we'll soon be getting the sense that the current runs of our favorite DC TV shows will be winding down. Lamentable as that may be, the final stretch of episodes can often be the most exciting, as we're treated to the payoffs we've been awaiting for the better part of a year.
Although a portion of the Arrowverse is unfortunately on hiatus yet again for the time being, the truth of the matter is that we're about to begin the final stretch of episodes for the season, so now is the time to get excited. Actually, Legends of Tomorrow will be wrapping up things a little bit earlier because, don't forget, it tends to enjoy shorter seasons than that of its sister shows. Still, there's a tad more of Arrow for us to look forward to, which we'll touch on momentarily.
