Ubisoft’s Move Into Free-To-Play Due To 95% Piracy Rates
Piracy is one of the most complex issues facing the industry, particularly on the PC platform. It is impossible to know to what extent it affects sales, and whether it is an indictment of an industry in trouble or a cause of that trouble is equally debatable. Ubisoft, however, are claiming that piracy rates of 93-95% are driving them to explore the free-to-play model which allows them to "gain revenue".

PopCap Confirm Rumours Of Layoffs And Restructuring
PopCap are the inimitable developers of some of the casual games that defined the genre, yet they too have seemingly been affected by the staff reductions currently tearing their way through the industry. The Witcher: Rise Of The White Wolf Retail Listing Was A Mistake
The Witcher: Rise of the White Wolf  was long ago considered to have been cancelled, but this console port of the first game in the franchise was recently rumoured to once again be in development. Perhaps due to the success of the console versions of The Witcher 2, and the murmurs that many of the key figures behind the series were working on a new project, this listing was unconfirmed but deemed somewhat unlikely to have been in error.

Machinarium Marches Onto PSN Next Month
Machinarium, whilst never very far from my thoughts, last came to the fore when rumours of a PS Vita release of the damn near perfect point-and-click surfaced. At that point, we already knew that its adventure onto the PS3 was coming sometime this summer, but now we know in which month it will arrive.
