Cobra Kai has been a major hit for Netflix since making the jump from YouTube, with its third season clocking up acclaim from critics and subscribers. A fourth block of episodes is expected to premiere in late 2021, and there are reportedly plans to keep the series going for at least another year beyond that, too.
We don't have too long to wait for The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It, which returns to Ed and Lorraine Warren's paranormal investigations. There's already been a lot of buzz for the picture as it's said to push the horror and hauntings further than previous entries in The Conjuring universe, and now director Michael Chaves has remarked on how it'll explore the darkest Warren case to date.
Dominic Purcell's departure from the CW's Legends of Tomorrow was announced in a somewhat strange way last month, with the actor blasting Warner Bros. before backtracking and claiming that his comments were a prank. Still, though, Purcell will be leaving the series after the current sixth season, and may return occasionally as a guest star. Showrunner Phil Klemmer has now added his thoughts to the news, and seems to be backing up the most recent stories.
The Texas Chainsaw Massacre reboot has had a troubled production to date, including a change of director last year that effectively resulted in shooting having to be restarted. The film is understood to represent a direct sequel to the initial 1974 Texas Chainsaw, and focuses on an aged Leatherface, and it now seems that things have progressed far enough for a test screening, but with a negative response to the current cut.
Since being released a few weeks ago, Mortal Kombat has provided a solid success for Warner Bros., both in terms of streaming and box office impact, and has been well received by fans. Amazon's animated superhero show Invincible was renewed for seasons 2 and 3 just recently, and it seems that we may be getting a great deal more than that, considering recent comments by comic book creator Robert Kirkman. The author, who wrote 144 issues of the written version of Invincible, told ScreenRant that he has storylines for at least five to seven additional blocks of episodes.
We're excited to finally see the Red Hood alias of Jason Todd turn up in live-action, after the Curran Walters version of the character was announced for Titans season 3. And according to sources close to WGTC - the same ones who told us a Green Lantern show was in development before it was announced - HBO Max are reportedly so invested in the antihero that they're developing a spinoff for him, which will presumably pick up subsequent to the upcoming events of this year's Titans episodes.
While Stephen King is a frequent recommender of movies and television shows, he has a much longer history as a go-to author for blurbs and tips for other novels. King, who published crime story Later a few months ago, and has another book on the way this year, singled out Christopher Golden's Road of Bones for particular praise, both for its terrifying content and impressive artwork.
While it's hard to imagine The Boys topping the excesses of its second season, it seems that the upcoming third instalment of the Amazon Prime show is going to be the bloodiest yet. At least, that's according to cast member Laz Alonso, who plays Mother's Milk, as he talked about what fans can expect from new episodes of the Eric Kripke-run series.
