Billie Eilish is already winning 2020. The young singer-songwriter cleaned up at the Grammys, taking home five awards including Record of the Year and Best New Artist and as of now, has the number one song in the UK with "No Time To Die," which is the new theme for Daniel Craig’s last turn as James Bond. It’s also Eilish’s first number one hit across the pond.
Fans of Marvel films, or movies in general, now have a chance to own a piece of cinematic history. That's right, Captain America himself, Chris Evans, is giving away one of the shields used in Avengers: Endgame to benefit the charity Girl Powerful, which is a youth empowerment organization.
Thanks to Spider-Man himself, Tom Holland, Disney and Sony were able to reach an agreement last summer for the wall-crawler to continue existing inside of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, which is owned by Disney, of course. But for a few weeks there, the internet was in mourning, as Peter Parker was going back under the seemingly rudderless direction of Sony. After having a contentious relationship in last year’s The Lighthouse, fans would very much like to see Robert Pattinson and Willem Dafoe reunite in The Batman. The cast is already set for the upcoming Batman reboot and while the villain lineup is already stacked, that isn’t stopping fans from calling for Dafoe to join the franchise in a possible sequel. Abrams is in negotiations with Lucasfilm to release a director’s cut of Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker. Doesn’t mean it will happen, but both parties are talking.
You know, usually I go into a John Wick movie just wanting to turn my brain off and enjoy 2 hours of gunplay, hand-to-hand combat, head shots, world-building and great stunt work. I didn’t really think there was any deeper meaning to such a franchise that continues to get better and better.
Spider-Man: Far From Home certainly ended on a cliffhanger with the identity of Spider-Man being revealed by J. Jonah Jameson. For the first time in any iteration of the character on the big screen, the whole world now knows what Peter Parker does in between classes.
