Anakin Skywalker’s Star Wars: Episode IX Cameo Reportedly Revealed

Though it’s been a rumored for a while now that Hayden Christensen might make a cameo in Star Wars: Episode IX, we’ve arguably yet to see a single compelling piece of evidence that this is the case. Nonetheless, the hearsay continues with this latest piece from the Express, which should probably be taken with more than the usual pinch of salt.

The publication relays word that J.J. Abrams’ upcoming trilogy-closer contains a scene where Rey ventures into the Lost City of the Jedi, where she hears the voice of Anakin Skywalker’s Force Ghost. In a sequence compared to Rey’s vision in The Force Awakens, it’s said that a hooded, black-cloaked figure with one blue glowing eye begins reciting a mixture of Jedi and Sith Code, before leading Rey into the Sith location within the city.

Honestly, this whole scene description gives off heavy fan-pandering vibes, and with all the Force Ghost and vision sequences that the rumor mill has alleged in the past year, it’s hard to take any new claims in this vein seriously. But as unlikely as the above report sounds, we’ll know by the end of the year if there’s even a little basis to it.

In the meantime, we could be just a few days from getting some solid content from Abrams’ film thanks to the upcoming Star Wars Celebration. In particular, it’s widely predicted that a panel on April 12th will see the premiere of the movie’s first trailer. And if we don’t learn the official title beforehand, it feels safe to assume that we’ll know it by the end of the weekend. Either way though, we still have a good few months to wait before Star Wars: Episode IX hits theaters on December 20th, 2019.
