A bridesmaid arrived at her sister’s wedding without her dress after the gown disappeared from a party room just hours before the ceremony. She then found a last-minute replacement and made it back in time for family photos. TikTok creator Rachael Quinn, who posts on TikTok as Rach (@rq101), detailed the chaotic wedding-day ordeal in a storytime video. Quinn, 27, also discussed the incident in an exclusive interview with People published Aug. 26, 2026.
Quinn’s sister was getting married Aug. 8 in Vaughan, Ontario, Canada, with the wedding taking place at The Doctor’s House in nearby Kleinburg. Quinn said her bridesmaid dress was supposed to be pink because pink was her sister’s favorite color. The dress remained in a rented party room at the apartment building where the bridal party had spent the morning getting ready.
The wedding party fell behind schedule, so the women brought their dresses to the party room to steam them before heading to the venue. Quinn said she had a photo timestamped at 12:47 p.m. showing her with the dress in its garment bag.
Quinn arrived at the venue, but the dress was missing.
She then left the room to retrieve other items and told the group to meet downstairs for their Uber. According to Quinn’s account, her dress remained hanging in the room and did not make it into the car.
When she arrived at the venue, Quinn realized the garment bag was missing. She checked the vehicle and contacted security at her sister’s building, but neither search turned up the dress.
Quinn’s boyfriend also returned to the building to search for the dress. An investigation at the building remains ongoing, and no suspect had been identified as of its Aug. 26 report. In her follow-up TikTok video, she said she did not want to accuse anyone before reviewing security footage and looking further into what happened.
Quinn scrambled to find a replacement.
The missing dress left Quinn with little time to find another one. She recalled that White Cherry Boutique was located near The Doctor’s House, so she rushed there with her brother and one of her sister’s friends.
The boutique staff helped her find a blue replacement dress. Quinn told People that the blue dress was the last one on the rack and described the coincidence as “meant to be. Something blue.” She then returned to the wedding venue, changed, touched up her makeup, and made it to family photos within minutes.
In her TikTok account, Quinn credited her family and the boutique with helping her get through the unexpected situation. Quinn said the people around her quickly stepped in so the incident would not overshadow her sister’s wedding.
“I stand on 10 toes when I say it was no one in my personal life or someone that attended the wedding was involved,” Quinn told People. This wedding story has a happy ending, but another TikTok creator shared a very different experience after her fiancé ended their relationship while they were planning their wedding and after she had already asked her bridesmaids to take part.
