New Arrow Synopsis Teases Big Changes For Dinah Drake

Ever since Oliver Queen got out of prison, the Arrow landscape has changed quite drastically. Not only has he been officially sanctioned by the Star City Police Department, but more recently, the rest of his team have been deputized as well. Seeing as how they're vigilantes with secret identities no more, you have to admit how different the status quo has become.

From the look of it, this shaky alliance will get even, well, shakier when “Training Day” graces our screens in a matter of weeks. Here, take a look at the official synopsis and see for yourself:

TEAM ARROW ATTEMPTS TO WORK WITH SCPD — Team Arrow attempts to work with the Star City Police Department but much to Oliver’s (Stephen Amell) frustration, things don’t go as planned. Meanwhile, Dinah (Juliana Harkavy) gets some life-changing news. Ruba Nadda directed the episode written by Emilio Ortega Aldrich & Rebecca Rosenberg (#715). Original airdate 3/11/2019.

Intriguing as those details may sound, I’m just as interested to find out more about Dinah Drake’s “life-changing news.” If you’ll recall, she got her throat slashed by Stanley Dover in “Star City Slayer,” and had to be subsequently hospitalized.

Now, if I were to put two and two together and hazard an educated guess, I’d say she’s permanently lost her Canary Cry. After all, we’ve seen her scarred in the flash forward segments and she’s yet to use her power in those, so it stands to reason that she’s going to have to rely solely on her martial arts prowess going forward.

Fortunately, Dinah’s immediate future does look bright, as she’ll unite with Sara Lance AKA White Canary and Earth-2’s Laurel Lance AKA Black Siren for a Birds of Prey-style episode this spring. In my opinion, that sounds pretty kick-ass.

Arrow airs on Monday nights on The CW, with “Training Day” set to debut on March 11th.
