Gotham Season 3 Character Portraits Debut As Lee Finds New Love Interest

With roughly a month and a half to go until Gotham kicks off its new season, Fox has released eight character portraits to raise both awareness and fan excitement. These images offer new looks at a sizable chunk of the principal cast and capture the dark, moody tone the series has become known for. It's quite interesting that many familiar faces were not included, so it is highly possible that a second round will arrive soon.

With roughly a month and a half to go until Gotham kicks off its new season, Fox has released eight character portraits to raise both awareness and fan excitement. These images offer new looks at a sizable chunk of the principal cast and capture the dark, moody tone the series has become known for. It’s quite interesting that many familiar faces were not included, so it is highly possible that a second round will arrive soon.

In the meantime, be sure to feast your eyes on some cool pictures of Jim Gordon (Ben McKenzie), Barbara Kean (Erin Richards), Bruce Wayne (David Mazouz), Butch Gilzean (Drew Powell), Selina Kyle (Camren Bicondova), Oswald Cobblepot (Robin Lord Taylor), Tabitha Galavan (Jessica Lucas), and Fish Mooney (Jada Pinkett Smith).

One of those left out by this wave of promo shots is that of Leslie Thompkins, AKA Lee, who is played by Morena Baccarin. In a recent conversation with Comic Book Resources, she shared something that is sure to complicate matters in the coming season, stating that her character has a new love interest:

New character: It’s Falcone’s son. I think I’m allowed to tell you all this. Nobody’s stopping me. A thunderbolt hasn’t struck me from the sky, yeah!

This new love interest is going to be very interesting because we’ve only ever seen Leslie with Jim. We’ve only ever seen their love story. And now there’s something for him to work for. So it’ll be … it’s exciting as an actor to play that conflict. He’s certainly not a choir boy, so we’ll see what happens with his life. It will not be easy. So they’ll have something to work towards.

We haven’t seen much from the Falcone family in recent memory, so that should add an element of intrigue to upcoming episodes. Given Jim Gordon’s history with the Falcones, I’m guessing he won’t handle this development all that well.

Before closing, Baccarin did divulge that she will be involved with Deadpool 2, but she is not sure in what capacity.

No, I don’t really know exactly what’s going on. I’ve been told I will be in it. I don’t know to what capacity or what they’re planning. I’m dying to find out. Let me know what you hear!

Gotham returns for its third season on Monday, September 19 on Fox.
