Finn Jones Shares Poignant Photo In The Wake Of Luke Cage’s Cancellation

Via Instagram, Iron Fist lead Finn Jones has shared a suitably poignant photo in the wake of Luke Cage's shock cancellation.

It’s been a whirlwind week for the Powers That Be over at Marvel and Netflix.

Not only have the creative duo launched Daredevil season 3 to critical acclaim, but they’ve also brought the hammer down on Iron Fist and, more recently, Luke Cage, confirming that Power Man won’t be returning for a third season as initially expected. And so, in the blink of an eye, Marvel’s Heroes for Hire lost their footing on the streaming platform, and we’re now learning that Disney is unlikely to continue the adventures of Cage on its soon-to-be-released digital service (read: Disney Play).

Be that as it may, one person who is particularly disheartened by Luke Cage‘s shock cancellation is Danny Rand himself, Finn Jones, who shared a poignant photo of Marvel’s Heroes for Hire over on Instagram in the wake of Netflix’s announcement.

Feast thy eyes:

Despite two relatively strong and compelling seasons, Marvel’s Luke Cage is no more, which only casts doubt over Jessica Jones and Daredevil‘s immediate futures. Chances are the former is safe (for now), as series showrunner Melissa Rosenberg is seemingly in the process of penning the script for season 3.

And the Devil of Hell’s Kitchen? Well, Matt Murdock earned nothing but stellar reviews for his admittedly bleak third installment, but this mass Netflix exodus serves as a pointed reminder that no series is safe from Disney’s axe, as the Mouse House prepares to get its ducks in a row ahead of the aforementioned streaming service booting online sometime next year.

Closer to home, all 13 episodes of Daredevil season 3 are currently available, with Jessica Jones (and The Punisher!) expected to follow suit in 2019.
