[h2]1) Person Of Interest: The Complete First Season[/h2]Person Of Interest actually had its season two finale last night, but that doesn’t mean you should miss out on picking up season one on Blu-Ray. From the mind of Jonathan Nolan (brother of Christopher Nolan), comes one of television’s most exciting new shows. Though only two seasons in, Person of Interest is already shaping up to be a throughly enjoyable series with quite a large following. Michael Emmerson and Jim Caviezel are excellent in the two lead roles and as the mystery continues to grow, we keep getting sucked in further and further.
This week, Amazon has the first season on Blu-Ray for 71% off, meaning that you can own it for just under $20. Unfortunately, I know a lot of people who still haven’t checked this one out and if you find yourself in that camp, we suggest that you rectify that mistake immediately.
[h2]2) Entourage: The Complete Series[/h2]Entourage is one of my favorite shows, ever. The exploits of movie star Vincent Chase and his “entourage” made for eight excellent seasons of television as well as a feature film (which is in the works). Though some say quality dipped towards the end (and they may be right), as a whole, Entourage is one of the most enjoyable and appealing shows around. The characters are all insanely likeable and endearing, even Hollywood agent Ari Gold, and the constant guest stars, inspired soundtrack choices and witty humor make this a show that is truly hard to resist.
So, on that note, you can own the entire series on Blu-Ray for 51% off this week. Amazon has it listed at $146.40 and for that price you’ll receive all eight seasons as well as a whole handful of bonus features. Whether you’ve seen the show or not, I’d recommend this box set to just about anyone. I have yet to meet someone that doesn’t like Entourage and we’re fairly confident that if you pick this one up, you won’t be disappointed.
When the order came down to cancel Friday Night Lights, many people were very upset, and understandably so. Admittedly, the show never found a sizeable audience but those who became fans were loyal to it. Critical reviews were also very strong throughout the show’s run. Centring on a fictional highschool football team, Friday Night Lights helped actors like Kyle Chandler, Adrianne Palicki, Taylor Kitsch and more gain mainstream exposure. It was a great show and though it’s too bad that it had to end, you can now re-live your favorite moments with the complete series on DVD.
Why DVD, you ask? Well, the complete series isn’t available on Blu-Ray, unfortunately. So for now, the DVD will have to do. Amazon currently has it as their deal of the day (so act quickly if you want it) and they’re selling it for $39.99, a 60% discount. Not a bad deal at all and we’d say it’s a must have for fans of the show.
