Picking up the pieces from its predecessor, the martial arts follow-up will once again center around Thaddeus (played by the aforementioned RZA), who finds himself drawn into battle once more despite his best efforts to put his violent past behind him.

Rounding out the international ensemble are Dustin Nguyen (22 Jump Street), Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa (47 Ronin), Eugenia Yuan (Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon: The Green Legend), Pim Bubear (Ninja: Shadow of a Tear), Carl Ng (New Police Story), Simon Yin (Ip Man), Ocean Hou (Man of Tai Chi), Grace Huang returning from the 2012 original.

When Thaddeus (RZA) is found badly wounded near a 19th-century Chinese town, miner Li Kung (Dustin Nguyen) and his wife Ah Ni (Eugenia Yuan) offer him refuge. As he heals, he becomes entrenched in a conflict that pits the townsfolk against the evil Master Ho (Carl Ng), his nefarious Beetle Clan and the terrifying Lord Pi (Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa). With Thaddeus at his side, the mild-mannered Kung transforms into a deadly warrior in this martial arts epic.
