Oscar Nominated Foreign Film Bullhead Announced For Blu-Ray In June

Oscar nominated foreign film Bullhead has been announced by Image Entertainment for Blu-Ray in June. The Michael R. Roskam directed film stars Matthias Schoenaerts, Jeroen Perceval and Jeanne Dandoy.

I recently had a chance to view Bullhead and I must say it’s an extraordinary film. It’s gritty, intimidating and an emotional powerhouse. I’m actually very surprised that it didn’t take home the best foreign film Oscar last night, but that doesn’t mean it’s not as deserving as the other films.

It’s a sad story that goes in one, inevitable direction, but even knowing the general outcome of the film doesn’t affect its impact. I couldn’t take my eyes off the screen until the very end and I’d oftentimes hope things would go in a different direction, despite knowing that it just wasn’t possible. Bullhead is a tragic drama that deserves its nomination, if not more. It’s ultimately a film about an irreversible destiny and how a man chooses to live with it.

No technical specs or bonus features have been announced for the disc, but we can expect Bullhead on Blu-Ray on June 26th, 2012.
