Magnolia Announces Goon For Blu-Ray In May

Goon, starring Seann William Scott, Jay Baruchel and Liev Schreiber is an absolute blast. Scott plays a role that's not too far out of his comfort zone with inappropriate sex jokes and fart humor, while Baruchel channels the most annoying hockey fan that you've ever seen. It's pitch-perfect writing, acting and directing from head to toe.

Magnolia Home Entertainment has announced the Michael Dowse directed hockey comedy Goon for Blu-Ray in May.

Goon, starring Seann William Scott, Jay Baruchel and Liev Schreiber is an absolute blast. Scott plays a role that’s not too far out of his comfort zone with inappropriate sex jokes and fart humor, while Baruchel channels the most annoying hockey fan that you’ve ever seen. It’s pitch-perfect writing, acting and directing from head to toe.

Director Michael Dowse (Take Me Home Tonight) takes what could have been a quick, but forgettable comedy and adds an extra layer of attention to characters, story and relationships. There’s an actual beginning, middle and end that makes Goon feel like a complete and satisfying experience.

Our very own Kristal Cooper had this to say about the film in her review:

Goon will definitely provide an entertaining diversion from the February blahs and may even leave you cheering for more.

Magnet will be offering the film up in two different packages: a Blu-Ray/DVD/Digital Copy combo pack and a single disc Blu-Ray. No special features or technical specifications have been announced at this time.

Goon will be sliding its way onto shelves on May 29th, 2012.

I'm an avid watcher of films and I just love discussing and sharing them with the world. I enjoy horror, sci-fi and mostly any genre under the sun, plus I have a slight obsession with Blu-ray's and the whole high definition craze.
