Millennium Home Media will be bringing the latest Richard Linklater‘s Bernie, starring Jack Black and Matthew McConaughey, to Blu-Ray in August.
Director Richard Linklater pairs up with Jack Black for another film, this time one that is darkly funny and a bit surprising, or so I’ve been told. It doesn’t hurt to know that the recently on a roll Matthew McConaughey shares some screen time with Black too.
I’ve been told that the film is quite good, especially for something starring Jack Black. I just haven’t been able to force myself to watch it yet, but that’ll change shortly.

The story of Bernie Tiede is a fascinating one and Richard Linklater treats these real events with reverence as well as a fitting sense of humor
No technical specs have been announced just yet, but the Blu-Ray will come with the following special features:
- True Story to Film behind-the-scenes featurette
- The Gossips featurette on Carthage’s real-life townspeople
- Special performance of “Amazing Grace” by Jack Black
