Fox Announces Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter For 3D Blu-Ray

The Timur Bekmambetov-directed dead-serious vampire flick Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter, based on the novel of the same name is something of a disappointment. Despite the promised cheese and gore in the trailers, the film ended up following the entire concept without as much as a smile. Blame the book, but I blame the lack of character Benjamin Walker brings to the film and the misused Dominic Cooper that goes mostly unnoticed.

Sometimes films like this need to embrace the silliness and become something special. Bekmambetov chooses to make a rather dry film and in doing so ruins any fun that could have been experienced.

Our very own Jonathan Lack had this to say about the film in his review:

Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter doesn’t even come close to living up to the fun, silly nature of its premise. The film is a dull, humorless, ugly-looking slog.

The film will be released on a 2D Blu-Ray combo pack and a 3D Blu-Ray combo pack. The following special features have been confirmed:

  • The Great Calamity Graphic Novel
  • Audio Commentary with Writer Seth Grahame-Smith
  • The Making of Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter
  • Dark Secrets: Book to Screen
  • On the Set: Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter
  • Vampire Hunting: Fight Choreography
  • The Art of Transformation: Make-Up Effects
  • A Visual Feast: Timur Bekmambetov’s Visual Style
  • “Powerless” Music Video by Linkin Park

Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter streets on October 23rd, 2012.

I'm an avid watcher of films and I just love discussing and sharing them with the world. I enjoy horror, sci-fi and mostly any genre under the sun, plus I have a slight obsession with Blu-ray's and the whole high definition craze.
