WB Announces The Campaign For Blu-Ray Later This Month

The political comedy The Campaign managed to make some decent cash when it saw its theatrical release just two months ago in August. Will Ferrell has proven to be a sure-thing at the box office, even when he stars in R-rated political comedies that tend to have a narrow audience Zach Galifianakis' recent appeal surely helped draw in some cash too, even though he tends to stick to the same role over and over again.

In what seems to be a very quick turnaround, Warner Bros. has announced the Blu-Ray release of Jay Roach’s The Campaign for later this month, starring Will Ferrell and Zach Galifianakis.

The political comedy The Campaign managed to make some decent cash when it saw its theatrical release just two months ago in August.

Will Ferrell has proven to be a sure-thing at the box office, even when he stars in R-rated political comedies that tend to have a narrow audience, and Zach Galifianakis’ recent appeal surely helped draw in some cash too, even though he tends to stick to the same role over and over again.

I didn’t care for this one at all as I thought most of the humor was of the lowest form. Ferrell is usually much better than this and Galifianakis is only continuing to ruin his credibility as an actor with talent. He seriously needs to mix things up and fast, before he becomes just another Kevin James.

Still, the film did well and is being rushed to Blu-Ray with an extended cut that is boasting an extra 11 minutes.

Our very own Jonathan Lack had this to say about the film in his review:

The Campaign is worth a watch. It’s funny, well-acted, and entertaining. But as a political satire, it’s hollow, and that prevents it from being memorable or thought-provoking in the ways it aims to be.

The following bonus content has been confirmed for this Blu-Ray/DVD/UltraViolet Digital Copy combo pack:

  • Extended Cut containing 11 additional minutes
  • Line-O-Rama
  • Deleted Scenes
  • Gag Reel
  • DVD Copy
  • Ultraviolet Copy

The Campaign will be available for purchase on October 30th, 2012.

I'm an avid watcher of films and I just love discussing and sharing them with the world. I enjoy horror, sci-fi and mostly any genre under the sun, plus I have a slight obsession with Blu-ray's and the whole high definition craze.
