Universal Studios has announced the Blu-Ray release of Pitch Perfect for next month. The film stars Anna Kendrick and Rebel Wilson.
Teen-pop musicals are a big deal right now, with films like Step Up continuing to pump out entries. The latest one to break the mold and earn some dough is Pitch Perfect, starring the now popular Anna Kendrick and Rebel Wilson. The film was smartly marketed, which resulted in a casual roll-out to more and more theaters, eventually stealing some thunder from other more well known titles.
I’m not fan the biggest fan of the genre, so I stayed away, but our very own Jonathan Lack had this to say about the film in his review:
Pitch Perfect has enough pleasures to overcome its failings, even if the margin is fairly slim at times. It is worth watching, but prepare to be bothered by how much of its potential goes unrealized.
