Sony has announced Rian Johnson’s latest sci-fi masterpiece Looper for Blu-Ray next month. The film stars Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Bruce Willis and Emily Blunt.
Rian Johnson may have made one of the best films of the year and perhaps one of the best sci-films of the last decade with the highly original and extremely innovative Looper. Johnson’s time-travel film echoes shades of The Terminator and gives us a bright hope for the future of the genre.
Joseph Gordon-Levitt’s transformation into Bruce Willis is impressive and shows his dedication to the role and his ability to take a character to the next level. Although Bruce Willis’ performance is similar to his normal action roles, he does give out a little more heart and characterization with this film, and it shows.

Looper marks a significant step forward for time-travel storytelling. It may not introduce any revolutionary concepts in and of itself, but Johnson’s outstanding vision and execution push at the genre’s emotional and psychological boundaries harder than any sci-fi work in recent memory.
