Argo Coming To Blu-Ray In February

Ben Affleck as an actor has had his fair share of ups and downs. As a director he's only managed to get even more accessible with each new film that he does. Gone Baby Gone remains my favorite of his, but the extended director's cut of The Town is perhaps a perfect mobster flick.

WB Home Entertainment has detailed Ben Affleck‘s political drama Argo for Blu-Ray in February. The film stars Affleck alongside Bryan Cranston and John Goodman.

Ben Affleck as an actor has had his fair share of ups and downs. As a director he’s only managed to get even more accessible with each new film that he does. Gone Baby Gone remains my favorite of his, but the extended director’s cut of The Town is perhaps a perfect mobster flick.

Argo is honestly my least favorite of the bunch, but I certainly do appreciate what he’s made. The film just rings on deaf ears for me and while I get its importance and Affleck’s abilities as a writer and director I just can’t say the film is something I’d ever want to re-watch, which is the complete opposite feeling I get from his other two films.

It will no doubtingly get an Oscar nom or two, which is fine, because Affleck deserves some gold, but if he wins it would be for the wrong film. I wish him the best as a filmmaker and I can’t wait to see what he does next, I just sure hope to hell it’s at the very least more exciting than Argo.

Our very own Jonathan Lack had this to say about the film in his review:

Argo is, in any case, absolutely worth seeing, especially considering what a big part of the year-end conversation it is destined to be. Affleck has taken an unbelievable slice of reality and miraculously improved upon the truth, and the results could hardly be more satisfying.

The Blu-Ray/DVD/Digital Copy combo pack will come with the following bonus material:

  • Feature Length Picture in Picture: Eye Witness Account
  • Audio Commentary
  • Rescued from Tehran: We Were There
  • Argo: Absolute Authenticity
  • Argo: The CIA & Hollywood Connection
  • Escape From Iran: The Hollywood Option
  • UltraViolet

Argo will hit shelves on February 19th, 2013.

I'm an avid watcher of films and I just love discussing and sharing them with the world. I enjoy horror, sci-fi and mostly any genre under the sun, plus I have a slight obsession with Blu-ray's and the whole high definition craze.
