This year at Comic-Con, Warner Bros. Home Entertainment is occuping the very prestigious Hall H on Thursday, July 24th at 6 pm to announce the details of the long-awaited Blu-Ray and DVD release of the iconic, fan favorite Batman: The Complete Television Series. In attendance to help Warner Bros. promote the release and flesh out its specs will be legendary actors Adam West (Batman), Burt Ward (Robin) and Julie Newmar (Catwoman). Working to build up anticipation for the announcement ahead of Comic-Con, the studio recently released a sizzle reel – and boy is it terrific.

My generation missed the Batman TV series completely, but most of us are familiar with West’s campy Caped Crusader and Ward’s superlative-loving Robin. And now that a whole, horrific mess of legal problems has been figured out, I’ll finally get the chance to see the two do their thing when the Blu-Ray, containing all 120 episodes of the show fully remastered in HD, hits shelves on November 14th.

If the sizzle reel (which you can check out below) is any indication, this is going to be one amazing home release. The audio seems crisp, and the picture quality is sharper than any episodes I’ve seen over the years airing in syndication. Hopefully the special features will deliver – there’s likely going to be an absolute treasure trove of commentaries, and I’m hoping that Warner Bros. is committed enough to the set that it will contain a documentary or two.

We’ll find out more about Batman: The Complete Television Series on July 24th, and we’ll bring you that news as soon as we have it. But based on this teaser, are you interesting in picking up this sure-to-be-massive Blu-Ray release? Or are you content to let West and Ward’s Batman and Robin thwart Cesar Romano’s dastardly Joker with terrible puns in memory alone? Let us know below!
