Marlon Wayans keeps finding work, so some people must like what he’s been doing on the big screen lately. Sadly, Wayans’ horror spoof sequel A Haunted House 2 didn’t do much for our critic Matt Donato, who handed it one and a half stars and remarked of the movie, “Redundant, cheap, and overplayed – the word ‘effort’ doesn’t even come to mind.”
Still, A Haunted House 2 made $9.1 million during its opening weekend (roughly half of the previous film’s earnings), which more than justified the $4 million budget and suggests that there’s still a group of viewers out there not tired of Wayans’ schtick quite yet.
