Those wondering when they can own a copy of Hitman: Agent 47 need not wait any longer to know when they can get their hands on the action packed film. The movie, which stars Rupert Friend (Homeland, Meet Me in Montenegro) as the titular assassin, will first be made available via Digital HD December 11. It will then make its way to Blu-Ray and DVD formats December 29, making for a perfect opportunity for fans to spend their holiday gift cards.

The Blu-Ray will feature 1080p video and lossless 7.1 audio. We also have the full rundown of bonus features to be included.

  • Re-Imagining Hitman
  • Ultimate Action
  • Staging the Fights
  • Hitman: Agent 47 Comic
  • Making of the Comic Book
  • Promotional Featurettes

Unfortunately, it appears the DVD will be rather bare bones and without bonus features. It’s something those confined to standard definition entertainment have come to expect in recent years, though, so it’s not too surprising.

Speaking of the comic book that’s listed among the bonus features, it can be read in .PDF format online, courtesy of Fox. Written by F.J. DeSanto and illustrated Jesus Hervas, it actually serves as prequel to the feature film, and you can find it here.

Hitman: Agent 47 centers on an elite assassin who was genetically engineered from conception to be the perfect killing machine, and is known only by the last two digits on the barcode tattooed on the back of his neck. He is the culmination of decades of research – and forty-six earlier Agent clones — endowing him with unprecedented strength, speed, stamina and intelligence. His latest target is a mega-corporation that plans to unlock the secret of Agent 47’s past to create an army of killers whose powers surpass even his own. Teaming up with a young woman who may hold the secret to overcoming their powerful and clandestine enemies, 47 confronts stunning revelations about his own origins and squares off in an epic battle with his deadliest foe.
