One of the most pleasant surprises of 2015 was, without a doubt, F. Gary Gray’s hard hitting NWA biopic, Straight Outta Compton. Featuring explosive performances from a cast of mostly unknown actors and confident direction from Gray, it quickly became a favorite amongst audiences and critics alike.
Our very own Matt Donato reviewed it back in the summer and concluded the following:
Straight Outta Compton is more a statement movie than a linear biopic, and while it runs a tad too long, Gray’s cast never stops delivering a consistently passionate energy.
On January 19th, Universal will be bringing the biopic to Blu-ray and to celebrate its release, we’re giving away a copy to one lucky reader.
