Warner Bros. has announced that the second season of The Flash will be released on DVD and Blu-ray on September 6th, just in time for The CW series’ third season. All 23 episodes (and one instalment of Arrow) will be included, and after all the twists and turns in the show this year, re-watching it to pick up all of the hidden clues will be a must.

The Flash Blu-ray will contain over three hours of special features, and the list released by Warner Bros. sheds some light on what we should expect. Browsing through them, feaurettes revolving around Zoom, the Arrow crossover which set up Legends of Tomorrow, and Kevin Smith’s episode seem like pretty perfect subjects to focus on.

– Behind-the-scenes visual effects featurettes for almost every episode!
– Star Crossed Hawks featurette
– Star Crossed Hawks: The Hunt for Vandal Savage featurette
– The Many Faces of Zoom featurette
– Chasing Flash – The Journey of Kevin Smith featurette
– The Flash: 2015 Comic-Con Panel
– The Flash: 2015 PaleyFest
– Deleted Scenes
– Gag Reel

The Flash movie may have just found a director, but it’s going to face an uphill struggle when it comes to topping this series, especially as the show has done such an incredible job of handling characters like Reverse-Flash, Zoom and Barry Allen (obviously).

Season two was in many ways even better than the first, and with the finale setting up a third year which may very well take place in an entirely new timeline – you can read more about that by clicking here – this set may be worth picking up just to check out The Flash‘s original status quo while it still existed.

After all, it seems like a Flashpoint is on the horizon…
