Rogue One: A Star Wars Story is many things to many people. For writer-director Gareth Edwards, it’s the ultimate love letter to the late, great Carrie Fisher, while many consider it to be the second exciting step in Disney’s retooled space opera.

Whatever the case, Rogue One blew past all expectations late last year to enter Hollywood’s exclusive billion-dollar club. Not bad for a spinoff Star Wars film that featured no Jedi whatsoever – unless you’re counting Darth Vader’s last-minute reign of terror – and that’s before you even factor in the damning reports of internal strife and production woes. Those alleged production woes led to a series of reshoots, most of which focused on the film’s third act.

All in all, it’s pretty remarkable that Rogue One was able to achieve such meteoric success when you factor these elements into the equation, and if you’ve somehow yet to catch Gareth Edwards’ anthology flick on the big screen, you’ll be pleased to hear that it’s coming to Blu-ray and DVD very soon – April 4th, in fact, and We Got This Covered is currently hosting a giveaway in anticipation of tomorrow’s launch (more details can be found down below).

Disney and Lucasfilm are also making their own preparations ahead of Rogue One‘s home video release, with today seeing the debut of an all-too-brief promo designed to tease one of the many featurettes included in the movie’s Blu-ray package. Entitled “Take the Journey,” it looks set to take you behind-the-scenes of Gareth Edwards’ wildly successful spinoff to showcase exactly how his Star Wars Story came to be. And considering that neither the director nor Disney plans to release any of those deleted scenes, this will really have to be the next best thing.

Rogue One will become available across Blu-ray and DVD tomorrow, April 4th. Will you be picking it up? Let us know in the usual place and if you haven’t already done so, be sure to enter our contest by Re-Tweeting the message below and following us on Twitter.
