Luckily, we won’t have to wait too much longer until the sci-fi/horror pic gets its home release, as it arrives on Digital on June 26th, followed by 4K Ultra HD and Blu-ray Combo Packs July 10th, along with a DVD on the same day. They’ll all come equipped with three making of featurettes as well, which will shed some light on the work that went into putting together this unique and delicately crafted picture.

While the “Creating the Quiet” featurette offers a general behind the scenes look at the making of the film, “The Sound of Darkness” will delve into the visual effects that made the monsters who stalk Krasinski and his family, while “A Reason for Silence” explores the sound editing process that was so crucial in creating the pic’s tense and unusual atmosphere.

Fans of the movie may need all the extra content they can get to hold them over until the planned sequel, too. Set on an Earth dominated by sound-sensitive predators where humans must learn to live with minimum noise and communicate mostly by sight, A Quiet Place was notable as much for the unusual world it created as for its story and characters.

In a recent interview, Krasinski speculated on the other humans still quietly going about their life in regions close to the film’s central family, and suggested that this could be fresh territory to explore in the next instalment. Whatever path the director eventually decides to go down, it’s clear that what was initially intended to be a standalone movie has left viewers eager for another journey into the strange logic of a world ruled by silence.
