If you need a reminder of how the Arnold Schwarzenegger-led horror-actioner managed to spawn a decade-spanning franchise while remaining the best of the bunch, Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment is giving the film a fancy re-release on 4K Ultra HD and Blu-ray, allowing for some visually pleasing carnage in the Central American jungle.

A limited-edition Blu-Ray Steelbook will also be available exclusively from Best Buy. Naturally, all of these formats come with a noteworthy array of bonus features, which break down as follows:

  • Predator: Evolution of a Species-Hunters of Extreme Perfection
  • Audio Commentary by Director John McTiernan
  • Text Commentary by Film Historian Eric Lichtenfeld
  • If It Bleeds, We Can Kill It: The Making of Predator
  • Inside the Predator Featurettes
  • Special Effects Featurettes
  • Short Takes with the Filmmakers
  • Deleted Scenes and Outtakes
  • Photo Gallery and Predator Profile

Additionally, if you feel like revisiting those times Danny Glover and Adrien Brody had to survive the hunt, 1990’s Predator 2 and 2010’s Predators will be packaged alongside the first film as part of the Predator 3-Movie Collection on 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray and DVD. The collection will also getting its own limited-edition Steelbook version to be sold at Best Buy and FYE.

All these Predator goods will be available from August 7th, giving viewers just over a month to refresh their memories before The Predator hits cinemas on September 14th. As it stands, no plans seem to be in place to release the two Alien vs. Predator movies on 4K, but try to contain your disappointment.
