Filming for the seventh film in the Tremors series has now completed production, according to star Michael Gross. But we're still without a release date.
Steven Moffat and Mark Gatiss are a creative partnership that needs little introduction, but introduce them I should. Critical and commercial acclaim came their way in bucketloads with Sherlock, their modern BBC adaptation of fiction’s Greatest Detective, or at least fiction’s Greatest Detective who doesn’t wear a cape. Their latest dip into literary iconography though is a TV retelling of the eponymous vampire Dracula, set to begin its 3 episode run on New Year’s Day (in keeping with Sherlock tradition).
In what must be the least surprising news since another Terminator film bombed at the box office, Avengers: Endgame has claimed crown of the most-tweeted-about movie of 2019. The list, which as you would expect saw Disney and superhero movies dominate, also saw top 10 finishes for Spider-Man: Far From Home, Joker, and Captain Marvel. In its entirety the rankings were as follows:
You may not be aware of this, but when he finds spare time, ad-man Kevin Bacon maintains a steady side-career as an actor. Good for him. Advertising is like waitering for film stars – no one could sustain a decent standard of living on it, not even celebrities. And yes, this has all been very, very serious.
Is the end nigh for Jack Black? Or more specifically Jack Black’s film career – I didn’t mean to give the impression he’s faced with some kind of impending doom; though the bread truck comes for us all in the end. The star’s days on the big screen may well be numbered, that’s according to the man himself. His newest film Jumanji: The Next Level could even be his last, if his latest interview with Balance is anything to go by:
Sinister writers Scott Derrickson (who also directed) and C. Robert Cargill are certainly keeping themselves busy. The duo are already working on Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness – the sequel to the 2016 film they also wrote. And if that wasn’t enough Derrickson & Cargill (their hot new pen name) for you, a little bird tells me they have even more cunning plans at work.
Considering how unrelenting Marvel’s success has been since it first rolled onto cinema screens 11 years ago, the franchise finds itself at a bigger crossroad than it’s typically been used to. The Avengers have come and gone to the tune of unprecedented box office success, several of its biggest stars have departed and winds of change are gathering apace. The question it leaves on the lips of the multitudinous fanbase they’ve brought with them is obvious then – where do they go from here?
