Amazon have released the first trailer for Truth Seekers, a brand new comedy series starring Simon Pegg and Nick Frost. The show follows “a team of part-time paranormal investigators who team up to uncover and film ghost sightings across the U.K., sharing their adventures on an online channel for all to see.” How very meta. You can check out the preview in question above, which also features co-stars Susan Wokoma and Malcolm McDowell as fellow ghost hunters.
Edgar Wright has lined up his next project. The director has signed on with Amblin Partners to helm Stage 13, an adaptation of a short story by Simon Rich. Rich will also be writing the movie.
Avengers: Endgame was billed as the most ambitious crossover event in history, but that’s something fans of superhero literature may disagree with. Marvel comic Secret Wars saw both the Avengers and X-Men transported to a place called the Battleworld, where they faced off against a vast selection of villains from each of their universes. High time for a sequel, don’t you think?
Neil Gaiman has iterated his desire to write a Doctor Who episode for current TARDIS incumbent Jodie Whittaker. The writer previously penned 2 episodes for the show during Matt Smith’s tenure, 2011’s critically acclaimed “The Doctor’s Wife” and 2013’s slightly less critically acclaimed “Nightmare in Silver”. 7 years since his last contribution, Gaiman explained to Digital Spy why he’s been unable to return since then:
Return to a time when Star Trek wasn’t the glitzy blockbuster property it is now, a time when budgets were modest and sets didn’t resemble Apple stores. Move over J.J., we’re heading back to the past for a feast of classic movies. Hulu are adding 6 to their library on August 1st, including perhaps the most popular Star Trek film of all, Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan. Here’s the full list of what you can catch:
For obvious reasons, it’s highly unlikely there’ll be a sequel to Solo: A Star Wars Story. The film bombed spectacularly at the box office, leading landlords Disney to park the entire Anthology project. There is, however, an alternative that’s being explored.
