Microsoft's Xbox Series X has put the company in the spotlight since its big reveal at the Game Awards last December, and the hype surrounding it has continued to grow every day. So far, they've shared a lot about the new hardware, such as its staggering level of power, controller reiteration and immense catalog of backwards compatible games that will be enhanced for the console at launch. What we still don't know, however, is specifically when that launch will be, how much it will cost or when we can pre-order it.
2020 hasn't been kind to the human population, having riddled us with issues ranging from Australia's massive wildfires, locust swarms in Africa, fears of a new world war and civil unrest worldwide following the murder of George Floyd. And though all of that has wreaked havoc, topping it all off has been the ongoing COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic that's only worsening by the day. With over 15 million known cases globally and 620,000 deaths, the outbreak has taken a massive toll on basically every aspect of daily life.
Sony's wildly successful PlayStation 5 reveal gave us all the information we'd been waiting to hear about for months, including the announcement of 26 brand new games, plenty of cool accessories to look forward to and even the quite aesthetically-divisive hardware itself. We even know what the game cases will look like and how big the new DualSense controller is expected to be in comparison to the DualShock 4. Unfortunately, however, we still haven't heard anything about a price, as it appears Sony and Microsoft are in a stand-off with one another in hopes of beating the other in value.
We know quite a lot about Sony and Microsoft's upcoming consoles now that both companies have revealed the majority of the important information we've all waited so long to hear. Of course, we're still waiting to learn about pre-order dates, pricing, and specific launch titles, but what we've seen displayed from both the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X has been gorgeous and should be a great leap forward for graphics and power.
If you can't find something to watch on Netflix right now, you must have already binged it all or simply be very picky, as the service has been killing it with releases lately. Huge additions to the platform this month have included the quite popular first season of Cursed, as well as such classics as Million Dollar Baby, Schindler's List, Sleepless in Seattle and Paranormal Activity. And considering that the long-awaited second season of The Umbrella Academy is dropping on the 30th, July has turned out to be one of Netflix's best months in ages.
Another day usually means another content drop from Netflix, and today is no different. As if the platform hasn't provided plenty enough already this month, they're looking to sweeten the deal with the addition of two new series, a stand-up special, and an action movie from a well-respected franchise. If you've already watched some of the month's other killer content, such as Million Dollar Baby, Donnie Brasco, and Paranormal Activity, you may want to give these new titles a look while you wait for the much-anticipated second season of The Umbrella Academy on July 30th.
As if things weren't bad enough in the world, famous rapper Kanye West recently announced he would be running for President this year. His campaign rally over the weekend was labeled as disastrous though after he became emotionally untethered and began to slander beloved activist Harriet Tubman. Those who attended were presumed to have done so largely for entertainment value, of course, as the artist has essentially no chance at winning the presidency.
Even before their divorce in 2017, Johnny Depp and Amber Heard had been engaged in accusing each other of domestic abuse. Now, after years of court battles, there still isn't an end in sight for the two ex-lovers. As a matter of fact, things only appear to be getting worse by the week as they continue to slander each other and attempt to see who will come out on top in the end.
Few franchises have left their mark on the gaming world the way Resident Evil has since its first title debuted way back in 1996. The survival horror series is now comprised of almost 30 games across various consoles and handhelds, the highest-grossing film series based on a video game, and tons of comics, animated films and more. Needless to say, Resident Evil has made its mark and isn't going away anytime soon, thankfully.
