Alongside their upcoming Batman reboot, Warner Bros. is developing a relaunch of Superman, too, with producer J.J. Abrams and screenwriter Ta-Nehisi Coates working on a bold reimagining of the Man of Steel. It's widely believed that this movie will sidestep Clark Kent and focus on a black version of the Kryptonian hero. What's more, Michael B. Jordan is said to be the studio's favorite to inhabit the role.

Captain America 4 Will Reportedly Focus On Racism In The United States
Marvel fans got a pleasant surprise last Friday when it was announced that Captain America 4 was in the works, after the conclusion of The Falcon and the Winter Soldier that same day. Sure enough, the movie is set to star Anthony Mackie as Sam Wilson, following him taking on Steve Rogers' former mantle in the hit Disney Plus TV series. We know that Falcon EP Malcolm Spellman will be co-writing the script with Dalan Musson but, beyond that, not much else has been revealed about the project.

Thor: Love and Thunder should be renamed Death and Thunder according to a new rumor about the upcoming movie. Coming from writer/director Taika Waititi, we're prepared for the fourth solo outing for Chris Hemsworth's God of Thunder to be a kind of superhero romcom, as Thor reconnects with former girlfriend Jane Foster (Natalie Portman), but it might also feature a lot of death and destruction if this intel is to be believed.

Mortal Kombat Fans Campaign For Gal Gadot To Play Kitana In The Sequel
Mortal Kombat has become an immediate smash hit for Warner Bros., proving even more popular than previous major movie releases on HBO Max. In fact, it earned more views in its first three days on the streaming platform than Godzilla vs. Kong did in five. It feels like there's a good chance that the studio will order up a sequel, then, especially as the first movie held back a few fan favorite characters to keep things fresh in a follow-up.

Jason Momoa Stalks The Night In First Photo From New Netflix Thriller
2021 is a big year for Jason Momoa. He's already featured in one of the most talked-about releases of the year so far with Zack Snyder's Justice League, and he's gearing up to reprise his role as the King of Atlantis in Aquaman 2, which shoots this summer. The former Game of Thrones star is then due to appear as part of the A-list ensemble of Denis Villeneuve's Dune, arriving in October, but before that gets here, we'll next see Momoa in Sweet Girl, a new action thriller that's debuting on Netflix in August.

The Internet Wants Ryan Reynolds As Johnny Cage In Mortal Kombat 2
Mortal Kombat debuted last week and it's proven to be a massive hit for Warner Bros. on streaming, with the video game adaptation breaking HBO Max's records, as it earned more views in just its first three days than Godzilla vs. Kong did in its first five. It might not have received critical acclaim, but fans of the franchise seem to have had a great time with it and the only real issue for them is that it doesn't feature a beloved character - Johnny Cage.

Halloween Kills Photo Teases The Return Of A Familiar Element From The Original
Though we've still got another half a year to go until it finally gets here, this new photo from the set of Halloween Kills promises that a familiar element from the original entry in the franchise will return. As it wiped out all of the sequels from continuity, 2018's Halloween paid homage to the 1978 movie in many ways and Kills will only double down on that. For instance, a famous car from the first film will return in this October's follow-up.

Gina Carano has revealed that her episode of National Geographic series Running Wild With Bear Grylls is set to air after all. Last month, fans noticed that Carano's appearance on the show, that was produced as part of the series' current sixth season, had been pulled from episode listings. This heavily suggested that Disney had quietly canned the episode following the studio parting ways with the actress over her controversial social media activity.

Mortal Kombat Writer Says Kano’s The Reason Why Johnny Cage Isn’t In The Movie
Mortal Kombat - the first movie adaptation of the classic gaming franchise since 1997 - has much to offer long-term fans as it features six out of seven of the original playable characters. Namely, Sonya Blade (Jessica McNamee), Raiden (Tadanobu Asano), Sub-Zero (Joe Taslim), Liu Kang (Ludi Lin), Kano (Josh Lawson) and Scorpion (Hiroyuki Sanada). A lot of folks are upset, though, that it didn't find room for one more - Johnny Cage.
