New Avatar 2 Set Photo Teases A Massive Ship And Harpoon Guns
Like all big budget movie shoots, Avatar 2 was put on hiatus by the COVID-19 lockdowns. Unlike many countries, New Zealand decided to quickly impose a strict lockdown at the start of the pandemic. As such, to date, they've recorded only 1,139 cases of the virus and a mere 21 deaths. With transmission rates now very low, their lockdown has begun to be relaxed. This means that the various shoots taking place there, most notably the Avatar sequels and Amazon's The Lord of the Rings show, can begin to start back up.

Suicide Squad Director Shares Cryptic Tweet After Snyder Cut Announcement
Warner Bros. and DC spent much of 2016 and 2017 desperately trying to catch up with Marvel Studios. They were obviously desperate for their own version of The Avengers and the MCU and tried to rush it without doing the necessary set-up and then got cold feet on what they saw of Zack Snyder's Justice League and David Ayer's Suicide Squad. Both were taken out of the hands of the original directors and drastically altered before release, to the consternation of fans who believed they'd gotten a lesser version of both films.

After literally years of writing about it, it's very strange to be talking about the Snyder Cut of Justice League as a confirmed thing. Full credit to those who kept the fire burning for so many years, as I often had doubts that Warner Bros would ever bow to fan pressure. But here we are, in a new Snyder Cut world where our questions have changed from "ifs" to "whens." In the hours since the story broke, the internet heated up with discussion of the project, with #ReleasetheSnyderCut quickly becoming a global trending topic.

Streaming services always raise eyebrows when they edit the movies on their platform, usually because they never inform viewers as to when they've done it. The most recent high-profile example was Disney+ censoring Daryl Hannah's butt in Splash! by putting some extremely fake-looking CGI hair over it. Now, it's Netflix's turn to get fans grumbling, as they've inexplicably censored a scene in Back to the Future Part II.

The Real Reason Ruby Rose Quit Batwoman Has Been Revealed
Season 1 of Batwoman stumbled out of the gate but gradually picked up momentum. The show gave us a fresh take on costumed crimefighting in Gotham City and ended on a high note by introducing the Arrowverse's Bruce Wayne (kinda). A second season was quickly greenlit, confirmed for an early 2021 release date and everything looked peachy. So, it was a huge shock yesterday when star Ruby Rose announced that she was leaving the role and that The CW would recast it.

First Look At The Stand Teases An All Too Relevant TV Show
When CBS All Access announced that they were producing a fresh adaptation of Stephen King's The Stand for 2020, it didn't raise too many eyebrows. A big-budget TV miniseries based on a classic King story makes perfect sense after the wild successes of the IT movies and other recent adaptations. But now, in the wake of everything that's happened so far this year, a story about a killer flu ravaging the world and changing society beyond recognition is suddenly disturbingly relevant.

Batwoman Ratings Jump Thanks To Bruce Wayne Season Finale
For much of its first season, Batwoman saw headlines about its low viewing figures in comparison to the rest of The CW's superhero shows. Fortunately, it seems to have ended on something of a high in the run-up to the finale. I think this was partly helped by the hero's strong showing in the "Crisis on Infinite Earths" crossover and because they started using more Batman-centric characters like Hush.
