Avengers: Endgame Is Still In Cinemas And Still Making Money

Avengers: Endgame may have finally dethroned Avatar and become the highest-grossing movie of all time, but its theatrical run hasn't officially ended. Despite the film's home release already having happened, it seems that some screenings are still drawing crowds. I reckon the gargantuan superhero action of Endgame just feels right on the big screen and while the major hurdle that it was trying to get over earlier this year was Avatar's worldwide box office haul of $2,789,679,794, it's now about $7 million ahead of James Cameron's pic, sitting pretty at $2,796,247,239.

2018's Halloween was a fantastic return to form for the iconic horror franchise. Writer Danny McBride and director David Gordon Green demonstrated that they profoundly understood what makes a good slasher film work, and Michael hasn't been as terrifying or intimidating in years. But all this might have been for naught if the movie hadn't had that classic Halloween sound. That's where original Halloween director John Carpenter stepped in, delivering an excellent synth score that seriously cranked up the atmosphere.

Just when you think Dwayne Johnson can't get any cooler he proves you wrong. His friend and frequent co-star, Kevin Hart was involved in a horrific car crash over the weekend. He quickly underwent major back surgery and is expected to make a full recovery, but for now he's most definitely out of action and isn't going to be making any of his scheduled TV appearances. That's where Johnson steps in. He's currently on his honeymoon with Lauren Hashian, but took time out to step in for Hart and appear on The Kelly Clarkson Show.

The Mandalorian Will Explore The Origins Of The First Order

When The Force Awakens revealed that post-Return of the Jedi, the remnants of the Empire had reformed into the First Order, many Star Wars felt it undercut the victory of the Rebellion. But, sadly, the status quo of the new trilogy rings true to our reality. It is incredibly difficult to stamp out an ideology, which will continue to simmer away under the surface until it has the opportunity to strike back. The beginnings of the First Order have been explored in various spinoff novels like Star Wars: Aftermath and Star Wars: Bloodline, but now it seems that we're going to see it happening on screen in Jon Favreau's hotly-anticipated Disney Plus show The Mandalorian.

New Pokémon Anime Series Will Be A Minor Reboot

2019 is set to go down as a bumper year for Pokémon. Not only have we had the excellent Detective Pikachu, but Pokémon Go remains hugely popular, Pokémon Masters is looking like a big success, there's a remake of the first Pokémon movie and, last but not least, there's the launch of the next full-size adventure on Nintendo Switch, Pokémon Sword and Shield. Now, the latest entry in the long-running anime series has been announced, with The Pokémon Company teasing what's to come.

Otis Plans A Prison Break In New 3 From Hell Trailer

3 From Hell hits cinemas in just two weeks, and director Rob Zombie is busy hyping the film up whenever he can. Today, he's released a new teaser on Instagram that focuses on Sheri Moon Zombie's character Baby, who's being busted out of prison by Bill Moseley's Otis. This fits with what we've heard about the plot continuing directly on from The Devil's Rejects and though that movie ended in a blizzard of bullets, it seems that Otis, Baby and Spaulding have all survived to wreak havoc another day.

Kevin Hart Undergoes Major Back Surgery After Car Crash

The comedian and actor Kevin Hart was rushed to hospital on Sunday night with "major back injuries" following a car crash in Los Angeles. The California Highway Patrol are reporting that Hart's 1970 Plymouth Barracuda tumbled down an embankment, leaving its passengers trapped inside. Driving was Jared Black, fiance of the other passenger, personal trainer Rebecca Broxterman. Hart managed to crawl from the wreckage, with Black and Broxterman remaining trapped inside the vehicle until emergency responders cut the roof off in order to free them.

Sony has announced that Arkham Knight will be available for free to PlayStation Plus subscribers in September. The addition of the final entry in Rocksteady's Arkham Trilogy has been warmly received, with the 2015 title still a technical and graphical powerhouse that plays beautifully. Pokémon Masters Has Had A Fantastic Launch

Pokémon Masters has big shoes to fill. The last free-to-play Pokémon mobile game was Pokémon Go, was a genuine pop-cultural phenomenon (and is still hugely popular). This new game is a very different kettle of fish. You play as a nameless trainer to a Pikachu on the island of Pasio, which hosts the Pokémon Masters League. You must travel around the map earning new badges, defeating rival trainers and their Pokémon and adding them to your team as 'Sync Pairs'.
