Lionsgate has announced the Glenn Close Oscar nominated film Albert Nobbs for Blu-Ray in May. The film also stars Aaron Johnson and Mia Wasikowska.
Albert Nobbs tells the story about a woman posing as a male butler in a time where a woman couldn’t get anywhere on her own. It’s a story about self-discovery and equal rights. Having not seen the film I can’t really comment on its quality. I can say though that the trailer, despite its rooted message, looked kind of dull. I’m all for women taking on male roles and vice versa, but Albert Nobbs looked like a certified sleeper.
The film must have done something right though, because was nominated for 3 Academy Awards (best actress, best supporting actress and best makeup).
The Blu-Ray will be presented in 1080p with a 5.1 DTS-HD Master Audio track. The following supplements have been confirmed.
