We recently learned when Doctor Strange will be released on DVD and Blu-ray in the UK, and now, some more packaging has been revealed. This one hails from Zavvi, and as you can see below, the “Big Sleeve” version features some cool artwork and is accompanied by a few limited edition posters created by the amazing Matt Ferguson.
It’s a fun design and a cool set, and likely one of many retailer exclusive variants which will be available when the Phase 3 release goes on sale next year. If you’re keen on picking up this particular version of Doctor Strange on Blu-ray, here’s an official product description courtesy of the site.
“Get ready for a brand new way to experience and treasure the movies you love, with the Big Sleeve Edition. Presented in a stunning 12-inch sleeve, this beautifully-crafted collector’s item comes with a Blu-ray and DVD of the movie, and exclusive 12” art cards you’ll cherish forever. So take home a movie experience the whole family will enjoy, with The Big Sleeve Edition.”
Of course, before we get too excited about Doctor Strange‘s home video release, the movie has to conclude its box office run. As of right now, it’s earned $656.5 million in worldwide box office receipts, making it Marvel Studios’ seventh-best grossing film of all-time. Whether or not it will manage to reach $700 million remains to be seen, but given how it’s been performing, it very well could.
While it likely won’t top Captain America: The Winter Soldier‘s $714 million haul, this is still an excellent total for Doctor Strange, which is based on a very obscure character from the comic books that wasn’t very well known to the general public. And, with the Blu-ray/DVD release still to come, you can bet that Marvel will be adding, even more, profit into their pockets before long.
