Paramount Home Entertainment is bringing Craig Brewer‘s certified fresh remake of the popular 80’s dance film, Footloose, to Blu-Ray in March. Kenny Wormald, Julianne Hough and Dennis Quaid star in the latest reincarnation of revolting dancers.

I’ll admit that I’ve never been a fan of the original and I thought this latest version looked horrid, but as more and more positive reviews starting flowing in I became curious. Not curious enough to check it out in theaters, but I might just have to check it out on Blu-Ray.

Our very own Billy Tatum had this to say about the film in his review.

Footloose takes on serious themes while staying true to the original. Plus, the infectious dance sequences make this film a ton of fun to watch.

The film will come to Blu-Ray in the form of a Blu-Ray/DVD/UltraViolet Digital Copy combo pack with a 1080p video transfer and a 5.1 DTS-HD Master Audio track. Here’s a list of the special features.

  • Commentary by Craig Brewer
  • Three behind-the-scenes featurettes (Jump Back: Re-Imagining Footloose, Everybody Cut: The Stars of Footloose, Dancing with the Footloose Stars)
  • Deleted scenes with optional commentary by Craig Brewer
  • Three music videos (Footloose by Blake Shelton, Fake ID by Big & Rich, Holding Out For A Hero by Ella Mae Bowen)
  • Footloose Rap feature

Footloose is scheduled to be released on March 6th, 2012.

I'm an avid watcher of films and I just love discussing and sharing them with the world. I enjoy horror, sci-fi and mostly any genre under the sun, plus I have a slight obsession with Blu-ray's and the whole high definition craze.
