More Footage Of The Joker Revealed In Trailer For Suicide Squad Extended Cut

Suicide Squad received mixed reviews, and it's hard not to wonder whether or not that might have had something to do with the fact it was so heavily altered in the editing room. Suicide Squad received mixed reviews, and it’s hard not to wonder whether or not that might have had something to do with the fact it was so heavily altered in the editing room. Since the movie was released back in August, it’s been reported that Warner Bros. wanted to lighten up the tone, hence why many scenes from the trailers ended up not making the final cut.

This December, Warner Bros. will actually release an extended version of Suicide Squad with an additional thirteen minutes of footage. Just how much of a difference that will make remains to be seen, but based on the new scenes revealed in the trailer above, we should definitely expect to see some pretty cool moments which weren’t in theaters.

It seems like most of the new content will revolve around Jared Leto’s Joker and his interactions with Harley Quinn, though a very interesting exchange between the latter and Katana is also spotlighted. Again, it’s too soon to say how much Suicide Squad will benefit from this, but an “Ultimate Edition” worked out pretty well for Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.

The fact is though, Warner Bros. can’t continue releasing subpar movies and then improving them when they hit Blu-ray. That’s going to kill interest in their theatrical releases, so here’s hoping Wonder Woman and Justice League pan out a little better next year than Suicide Squad did.
