It may have been a bit of a non-starter insofar as awards consideration goes, but David Dobkin’s legal drama The Judge isn’t without its merits, including fine performances from Robert Downey Jr. and Robert Duvall. If you missed the pair squaring off on the big screen, rest assured you’ll have a chance to check out the film soon enough – Warner Bros. Home Entertainment has announced that it will release The Judge on Blu-Ray on January 27th, 2015.
Vera Farmiga, Vincent D’Onofrio, Jeremy Strong and Dax Shepard co-star in the film. Downey stars as big city lawyer Hank Palmer, who returns to his childhood home where his estranged father, the town’s judge (Duvall), is suspected of murder. He sets out to discover the truth and along the way reconnects with the family he walked away from years before. Billy Bob Thornton, Melissa Leo, Leighton Meester, Ken Howard, Emma Tremblay, Balthazar Getty, David Krumholtz, Sarah Lancaster, Grace Zabriskie and Denis O’Hare all have supporting roles.
The Blu-ray release of The Judge is presented in 1080p with DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 surround. Special features on the release include:
