Well, that didn’t take long. NBC has announced that season nine of The Office will be arriving on Blu-Ray on August 13th. Longtime fans of the show are currently in mourning, as the series finale aired last night, but news of the upcoming Blu-Ray release should soften the blow a bit. Or maybe not.
Yes, The Office is now gone and it’s a sad day ineed. Despite the show going downhill when Steve Carell departed, it’s still pretty upsetting that it’s over and as a longtime fan, I’m definitely sad to see it go. Even in its later seasons, where it wasn’t as funny, it still remained one of my favorite things on TV and the series finale last night was everything I could have hoped for. It was far from the funniest episode of the show but it did what it needed to and and as a serious fan, I was satisfied.
I’ve seen every episode of this show countless times and already own every season on DVD/Blu-Ray, so picking up season nine is a no brainer for me. Exact special features haven’t been confirmed just yet but we’ll be sure to let you know when those are revealed.
