Sony has announced the latest 3D animated comedy The Pirates! Band of Misfits for Blu-Ray and Blu-Ray 3D in August.
I’ve seen the trailer for The Pirates! Band of Misfits exactly two times while at the theater in the past year. I’ve yet to see one TV spot or other promotional ad for it and I don’t think I’m the only one. The film opened to a disappointing reception at the box office and quickly drowned among other 3D animated kid’s films.
I honestly know very little about the film, so we’re going to leave this one to our very own Kristal Cooper, who said this about the film in her review:
A rollicking good time that offers enough broad comedy mixed with more cerebral sight gags to ensure this will be a family favourite for years to come.
Her overly positive review makes me want to at least check the film out on home video. How about you?
The Blu-Ray will be presented in two combo packs: a Blu-Ray 3D/Blu-Ray 2D/DVD/Digital Copy combo pack and a Blu-Ray/DVD/Digital Copy combo pack. Both editions will come with a 1080p video transfer a 5.1 DTS-HD Master Audio track.
