It’s barely been two hours since the announcement that Star Wars: The Force Awakens would be landing on home release in just under a month — Digital HD on April 1, Blu-ray/DVD on April 6 — and retailers are already gearing up to stress you out with dozens of alternative packaging and special content editions of the blockbuster film. Take a deep breath, and get ready for the first retailer-exclusive Blu-ray combo pack, this one from Target.
The big box retailer will have a Star Wars: The Force Awakens Blu-ray with the full cast table read of the film’s script, deleted scenes, and (here’s the kicker) twenty minutes of “exclusive content.” What does that even mean? Apparently it has “a never-before-seen interview with Daisy Ridley and John Boyega, and a deeper look at the movie’s weaponry.”

Until then, get your battle plan ready: hints at other companies — like “exclusive slipcovers” at Walmart and a Steelbook at Best Buy — are already cropping up on sites like Blu-Ray.com.
