The latest film from the popular indie horror director Ti West, titled The Innkeepers is scheduled to hit Blu-Ray this April, courtesy of Dark Sky Films.
The Innkeepers managed to scare up some critical praise when it was released on demand this past December. Its positive word of mouth has helped Ti West secure even more credit in the world of horror filmmaking.
I’ve yet to see the film, but if it’s anything like The House of the Devil then I’m sure I’ll love it. I’m a fan of West and his dedication to a genre that many have claimed is dead. Horror films aren’t dead; they’re just adapting to fit the needs of moviegoers.
The Innkeepers is another film that took advantage of the VOD format before going into limited release. It’s been proven to be successful for marketing and keeping the advertising costs down.
Our very own Jeff Beck had this to say about the film in his review.
Writer/Director Ti West is able to establish an effectively eerie mood and atmosphere while delivering some decent scares.
Technical specs haven’t been confirmed yet, but The Innkeepers will come with the following special features.
- Two audio commentaries
- The Innkeepers: Behind the Scenes featurette
- Trailer
The Innkeepers will be hitting stores on April 24th, 2012.
