The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2 Coming To Blu-Ray In March

It takes a mighty brave soul to sit through the entire Twilight series. I have only dabbled in Breaking Dawn - Part 1 and I already feel like that's enough to consider myself a useful member of society. The Twilight series has no doubt shaped the movie-going culture for the past few years and I'm not quite sure if that has been for the better or not. But people continue to support the vampire romance series or whatever it claims to be and that's good for them.

Summit Entertainment has announced the Blu-Ray release of The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2. The film stars Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner and will hit store shelves in March.

It takes a mighty brave soul to sit through the entire Twilight series. I have only dabbled in Breaking Dawn – Part 1 and I already feel like that’s enough to consider myself a useful member of society. The Twilight series has no doubt shaped the movie-going culture for the past few years, but I’m not quite sure if that’s a good thing or not. Either way, people continue to support the vampire romance series, or whatever it claims to be, and that’s good for them.

Director Bill Condon has been said to be the best Twilight director, because he captures what the fans loved from the books, while also throwing in enough cheeseball antics to make even us non-fans chuckle. I appreciate his efforts, but at the same time I don’t think I’ll be picking up Breaking Dawn – Part 2, simply because I’m still having nightmares from the birthing of that half-human/half-vampire thing from Part 1. Perhaps I’m being too hard on the little franchise that could, or perhaps I’m thinking with my brain and avoiding the torture and pain.

Our very own Jonathan Lack had some better things to say about this particular entry in his review:

The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 2 is easily the best film in the series, thanks to stylish direction, a good sense of tone, and decent acting. It also has an infuriating ending that reinforces the worst of this series and further baffles my understanding of its success.

The film will be coming to Blu-Ray with the following special features:

  • “Forever: Filming Breaking Dawn Part 2” – Seven-part “making of” documentary
    • Chapter 1: “Rebirth”
    • Chapter 2: “Renesmee”
    • Chapter 3: “The Cottage”
    • Chapter 4: “The Gathering”
    • Chapter 5: “The Field”
    • Chapter 6: “The Battle”
    • Chapter 7: “Forever”
  • “Two Movies at Once” featurette
  • “The Forgotten” Green Day music video
  • “Jump to” features
  • Audio commentary with director Bill Condon

The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2 will be available to own on March 2nd, 2013.

I'm an avid watcher of films and I just love discussing and sharing them with the world. I enjoy horror, sci-fi and mostly any genre under the sun, plus I have a slight obsession with Blu-ray's and the whole high definition craze.
