In light of the latter’s previous confirmation, speculation has largely shifted to attempting to suss out just who it is that will be joining Apex‘s existing roster. Early concept art unearthed shortly after the game’s release widened the candidate pool to almost double-digit territory, though a handful of frontrunners have since emerged. Thanks to recent data-mining efforts, Titanfall 2 antagonist Kuben Blisk has been added to the list, joining long-running rumoured character Wattson.

As of today, however, it appears all but confirmed that the latter is next in line, and you can check out the tantalizingly short teaser below:

How does the seemingly unidentifiable image pertain to Wattson, you ask? Well for starters, the wardrobe choices and color scheme present in today’s teaser match those seen in original sketches of the character, but it’s the presence of electricity that truly gives it away. What with their name being a play on words and previous leaks outing several appropriately-themed abilities, there remains little room for speculation.

What isn’t clear, however, is if Wattson will be the character’s official name. Concept art is just that – a concept – so there’s a good chance that Respawn decided on a name change during development. Either way, we’ll have all the details on Apex Legends Season 2 tomorrow, June 8th. In the meantime, limited-time event Legendary Hunt is still ongoing. Be sure to grab all of the exclusive rewards on offer before they’re gone for good!
