Batman And Harley Quinn Blu-Ray Release Date, Box Art And Extras Revealed

With the awesome showings that were Justice League Dark and Teen Titans: The Judas Contract now behind us, our attention turns toward the next major DC animated film of 2017 in Batman and Harley Quinn. Pairing one of the genre's most lucrative players in the former with one currently boasting white hot popularity in the latter was a wise move on the part of the studio and, judging by last week's trailer reveal, it looks like they have another hit on their hands.

With the awesome showings that were Justice League Dark and Teen Titans: The Judas Contract now behind us, our attention turns toward the next major DC animated film of 2017 in Batman and Harley Quinn. Pairing one of the genre’s most lucrative players in the former with one currently boasting white hot popularity in the latter was a wise move on the part of the studio and, judging by last week’s trailer reveal, it looks like they have another hit on their hands.

Usually, more details regarding something distributed by WB Animation swiftly follow a trailer’s release, so, thankfully, history has repeated itself and we now know that this particular offering will be released via Digital HD on August 15, with Ultra HD Blu-ray Combo Pack, Blu-ray Deluxe Giftset, Blu-ray Combo Pack and DVD releases following on August 29.

In addition to learning when we can get our mitts on a copy, an official synopsis for the film, which features the voice talents of Kevin Conroy (Batman), Loren Lester (Nightwing) and Melissa Rauch (Harley Quinn), has been provided:

In Batman and Harley Quinn, Poison Ivy and Jason Woodrue (a.k.a. The Floronic Man) embark on an ecological quest to save the planet – and, unfortunately, eliminate most of humankind along the way. To save humanity, Batman and Nightwing are forced to enlist Harley Quinn to catch Poison Ivy, Harley’s BFF and frequent partner-in-crime. But Batman’s patience is put to the test by the unpredictable and untrustworthy Harley during the twists and turns the reluctant companions face during their bumpy road trip. The result is a thrill ride of action, adventure and comedy no Batman fan has seen before.

Now, onto the bonus content, which I always find to be one of the most exciting aspects. Here’s what’ll be found on the various formats:

Ultra HD Blu-ray, Blu-ray Deluxe Giftset, Blu-ray and Digital

The Harley Effect (Featurette): Harley Quinn, has a deep history with the fans of the DC Universe. This featurette traces her humble roots from her creators, to those that portray her at Comic book conventions. She is a symbol of strength and beloved by many.

Loren Lester: In His Own Voice (Featurette): This documentary examines actor Loren Lester’s legacy within Batman: The Animated Series, Dick Grayson’s character, and the popularity that surrounds Lester’s interpretation of the Boy Wonder.
