Mark Ruffalo’s Speechless After Hearing He’s Still Fired From Avengers 4

To recap what’s turning out to be a pretty lengthy social media saga: Earlier this month, the actor publicly admitted that he had accidentally dropped some major intel on his next MCU outing while on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, prompting directors Anthony and Joe Russo to tweet, “Mark, you’re fired.” Though the Russos were clearly joking, that hasn’t stopped them from recently sending the Bruce Banner actor another reminder of his dismissal.

All the while, the internet has been watching and reacting. They raged at the Russo Brothers for fake-firing their star and they raged at Ruffalo when they saw that his Fallon spoiler had been censored out. And when the performer was told once more that he’d been fired, many fans joked that Ruffalo should start dropping some real spoilers. But instead, this was the timid response he offered:

“I don’t know what to say.”

Now those are some ironic words to read from a notorious blabbermouth.

Since Ruffalo’s initial confession, the episode of Fallon has aired with the spoiler bleeped out. Audio-savvy Marvel fans, however, have revealed that the actor referred to the upcoming Infinity War sequel as The Last Avenger, though the legitimacy of this ‘spoiler’ remains up for the debate. At the same time, the rumored name Avengers: Annihilation has been getting some traction online, though with the movie’s first trailer perhaps only a month or so away, we may not have long to wait before the title gets an official reveal.

There remains much to learn about Avengers 4, but one thing we can continue to count on is that the film will be hitting theaters on May 3rd, 2019.
