Arrow Season 6 Blu-Ray Release Date And Extras Unveiled

Even if a TV series is to be headlined by a character you personally champion, it's imperative that it maintain quality for the long haul if viewers are to be kept aboard. In the case of Arrow, its fifth season proved to be one of the show's strongest outings, so I was quite pleased to see the sixth continued with that momentum.

What was especially interesting about this past year was that the whole team dynamic was taken to a new level – yet sight was never lost on the titular character, that being the Emerald Archer himself. Believe me, Oliver Queen was really taken to the limit this time around, as Ricardo Diaz proved to be quite the formidable foe.

So, if you’ve been following along and are willing to relive the journey – or you play the waiting game and do the binge-watch thing – know that Arrow: The Complete Sixth Season will be coming home on August 14 via Blu-ray, DVD and digital formats.

For more, here’s a synopsis teasing what to expect:

Following the devastating explosion on Lian Yu, Oliver Queen (Stephen Amell) returns home to confront a challenge unlike any he’s ever faced: fatherhood. Oliver is determined to embrace this new role while continuing to serve and protect Star City as both Mayor and The Green Arrow. But enemies past and present, including Black Siren (Katie Cassidy), Vigilante (Johann Urb), Ricardo Diaz (Kirk Acevedo), Cayden James (Michael Emerson) and others, threaten him on all fronts. And bonds within the ranks of Team Arrow—veteran John Diggle (David Ramsey); tech genius Felicity Smoak (Emily Bett Rickards); former police captain Quentin Lance (Paul Blackthorne) and brilliant inventor Curtis Holt (Echo Kellum), plus newest team members Rene Ramirez/Wild Dog (Rick Gonzalez) and metahuman Dinah Drake (Juliana Harkavy)—have become dangerously decayed. The future of Star City is at stake in all 23 of Season Six’s ferociously fast-paced, can’t-miss episodes.

Before moving on, it’s important to note that only the second part in the “Crisis on Earth-X” crossover is included. So, if you want to take in the whole experience, you’re going to have to pick up the other upcoming Arrowverse releases on Blu-ray as well.

Still, there’s a fair amount of supplemental material on hand and below, we have the full rundown of bonus features to be consumed:

  • The Best of DC TV’s Comic-Con Panels San Diego 2017
  • The Split of a Man: Deathstroke
  • Inside the Crossover: Crisis on Earth-X
  • Revenge in Ones and Zeros: The Story of Cayden James
